In this blog, I have written 'reviews' of restaurants that I have eaten at and think are at least half decent and may eat at again.

C-Lovers Fish & Chips

2501-53rd Ave
(250) 558-0208

Food Type
Fish & Chips

Hours
Sunday 11:30-8:00
Monday - Wednesday 11:00-8:00
Thursday - Saturday 11:00-9:00

Atmosphere
Something fishy going on here... C-Lovers has a casual, relaxed feel to it.  It is a large restaurant, with lots of tables.  Definitely a good family place.  The decor is slightly tired and plain looking, but the place is nice and clean.  The service is prompt and friendly.  We had a very nice, attentive server, and it made the over-all experience quite pleasant.
C-Lovers serves an array of fish dishes, shrimp, and other seafood, but also has some chicken meals and assorted appies for those who aren't quite 'sea lovers'.
C-Lovers offers a daily special of all-you-can-eat fish and chips with a bottomless drink for $10.99.  The food was all quite delicious, but slightly greasy, as breaded, fried fish is apt to be.  All in all, the meal was a fine affair.

C-Lovers has a menu with 'family packs' for large parties, and a takeout menu for those who want fish & chips at home.

Indian Tandoori & Napolese Cuisine

Sat: 1:00pm-11:00pm
Sun: 1:00pm-10:00pm
Lunch Buffet - Monday-Friday: 11:00am-2:30pm

Atmosphere
The restaurant was quiet while I was there, with just a few customers, and the radio playing softly in the background.  When I asked the six people I ate with what the atmosphere was like, all they could really reply was 'orange'.  Indeed, the walls are quite orange, and nothing really stands out visually in the restaurant, except perhaps for the fake trees in the corners which reach out to caress you while you're eating, and the pink fake flowers on the tables.  The food though, was quite delicious, and the main dishes were brought out in Indian bowls on stands over candles, which kept them warm.
To drink, I just had water, which was from the tap, and tasted like Vernon tap water.
I had the Shahi Butter Chicken, with side orders of rice and garlic nan bread.  The sauce was creamy and flavourful, and the chicken tender.  The portions definitely filled me up, and kept me satisfied till it was well past time for my next meal.
There is a kind of spice-o-meter you use to let them know how hot to make the food. It ranges from mild to extra hot.
The staff was friendly, though not overly attentive.

The Curry Pot offers a variety of dishes, featuring lamb, chicken, beef, and seafood.  They also serve an assortment of vegetarian dishes.

Prices range from $1.00 (for papadam) to $19.50 (for bakra kabod)

At The Curry Pot, you can eat in or order to go.  They cater and take group reservations.

DJ's Perogie Kitchen

4409 - 29th St.
(250) 542-6165

Food Type
Ukrainian, Burgers, Breakfast

Atmosphere
Casual, Ukrainian decor.  Slight cafeteria feel.

At DJ's, the burgers and breakfasts are good, but the perogies are what you should go for.  There is a good variety of fillings, ranging from potato, to cottage cheese, to saurkraut.  These are smothered in butter an onions, and served with a dollop of sour cream, making them delectable and delicious.
The staff are friendly, but leave you to eat at your leisure once you are served.

Rustic and homey, casual, country.  A good place for families and fellowship.  Can become a favourite spot for a Sunday brunch.  The Cattlemen's Club serves up a great Sunday buffet, with a good variety of breakfast and lunch food, and delicious desserts to finish off with.   Food is always fresh and plentiful.  Staff are friendly and attentive.  One of my after-church favourites. :)

Atmosphere

Price Range
$1.50 (for a bowl of rice) - $17.95 (for a Chinese steak)

Hours of Operation
Tuesday - Saturday 11:00am-9:00pm

My Dad and I recently went here for lunch.  Every day, Apple Lane has a lunch special from 11:15-2:00.  A full order is $5.50, and a half order is $4.50.  I had Thursday's lunch special, which was lemon chicken, pork fried rice, and pork chow mein.  It was quite delicious. Portions were a good size for price.  The service was friendly and prompt.  I'd reccomend it to those who like Chinese food.
